Line — American Biltrite rubber
The color runs all the way through.
ABMarathon is homogeneous vulcanized rubber, so the color is the body of the tile, not a film printed on top of it. Wear reveals the same color underneath. One 3 mm gauge carries three surfaces and a matching stair tread, so a stairwell, a corridor and a lab can share a single specification and a single maintenance routine.
01 — Round
The widest range of the three, and the only one in both formats.
ABMarathon — Round (MCR)
23 current colorways · 18″ × 18″ and 36″ × 36″

The raised disc does practical work: the studs lift the contact patch clear of water and grit, and the Micro Ground finish leaves the surface flat enough to mop without building a polish line. Twenty‑three colorways run from the four grays that carry most corridors to a saturated group — Explore Red, Violet Riot, Chummy Orange — that reads as wayfinding rather than decoration.
The 36″ tile covers ground quickly across a concourse or a field house; the 18″ tile turns corners and works around fixed equipment with less cutting and less waste.

02 — Hammered & Natural Slate
Two quieter surfaces, for rooms that do not want the stud.

Hammered
A shallow, irregular texture instead of a raised disc. It holds the same slip performance and the same cleaning routine, but it sits quieter underfoot and photographs as a field rather than a pattern — the usual choice where the floor runs into a reception or a waiting area and the studs would read as too industrial.
Natural Slate
The most recessive of the three: a fine riven texture in four neutrals, supplied only as the 36″ tile. It is the surface to put in front of an architect who wants rubber’s performance without rubber’s signature, and it sits comfortably beside stone, terrazzo and exposed concrete.
03 — Stair treads
The stair carries the same rubber as the floor.
Treads are produced in the same compound and the same two surfaces as the tile, which means a stairwell and the corridor it opens onto can be specified in one color and maintained as one material. Four profiles cover the two decisions that matter: which surface, and whether the nosing carries a contrasting strip for visually impaired users.

Round
Raised disc surface, square nosing. The tread that matches a Round tile floor.
Hammered
Textured surface, square nosing. Matches a Hammered tile floor and the quieter stairs.
Round, visually impaired
Round surface with a contrasting nosing strip, for stairs that need the edge read at a glance.
Hammered, visually impaired
Hammered surface with the same contrasting nosing strip.
Specifying rubber
A printed floor defends a photograph. A homogeneous floor defends a building.

How a rubber floor gets specified
From the first corridor drawing to a floor that is signed off.
Settle the surface first
Round, Hammered or Natural Slate changes the format available and the way the floor reads in a photograph. It is the decision everything else follows.
Sample in the real color
Rubber shifts under LED, daylight and the wall color beside it. We send the actual colorway, not a printed chip, and we send the tread with it.
Plan the sequence
Subfloor preparation, adhesive selection and moisture conditions are agreed with the commercial flooring contractor the project already works with.
Walk it and sign it
The documents that travel with the submittal are the manufacturer’s own current files, so what is approved is what is on site.
Talk it through
Every project starts with a conversation.
One dedicated account executive per project, from the first corridor drawing through to the closeout documents. Bring the plan, the traffic and the schedule, and we will tell you which surface belongs where.
