Open an Account — Yorkshore

Two forms, and the account trades.

Contractors, facility groups and design-build firms buy from Yorkshore on account. One form establishes the company, a second sets the credit terms it trades on, and an account executive is assigned as soon as both are in.

01 — Before you start

Four things worth having to hand.

Both forms are short, but they ask for details that usually sit with accounting rather than with the person specifying the job. Gathering these first turns two sittings into one.

01

Legal identity

Registered company name, any DBA, ownership type, and the federal tax ID the account will invoice under.

02

Three addresses

Legal, billing and shipping — and whether the delivery site has a loading dock or a forklift on hand.

03

An accounting contact

The email invoices should reach. This is rarely the same address as the person placing the order.

04

A signing officer

The credit terms are agreed by an officer of the company, with name, title and contact details on the record.

Florida sales-tax-exempt accounts should have the exemption certificate ready to send to order@yorkshore.com. Sole proprietors trading on a Social Security number rather than a federal tax ID should leave that field blank — an account executive will collect it directly.

02 — New Customer Form

Who the account is.

This is the record the account is built on — how invoices are addressed, where material ships, and who signs for it. It goes straight to the accounts team.

03 — Credit Application

The terms the account trades on.

Seventeen clauses, set out in full below. Read them, then complete the agreement — it is signed by an officer of the company and forms the credit agreement between you and Yorkshore.

  1. Customer represents that the information supplied in the Credit Application is in all respects complete, accurate and truthful. Customer agrees to notify Yorkshore promptly, in writing, of any substantive changes in the information needed.
  2. Customer shall immediately notify Yorkshore of any change of postal or email address, and, failing such notification, any notice to Customer is effectively sent if sent by post or email to Customer's last known address.
  3. Customer understands that the information included in the credit application is for use by Yorkshore in determining the amount, if any, and conditions of the credit extended.
  4. Credit limit and payment terms requested are contingent upon credit approval from Yorkshore. Customer understands that Yorkshore may cancel credit at any time without notice.
  5. In the event credit is extended, Customer shall pay all invoices when due and pay interest on overdue accounts as recorded on Yorkshore invoices. Customer acknowledges that Yorkshore may change such conditions from time to time. Standard payment terms are thirty days for all business, unless agreed upon in writing and signed by Yorkshore. All accounts thirty-one days old will be considered delinquent and subject to review of credit privilege. A service charge of one and one-half percent monthly may be assessed on all delinquent bills.
  6. If Customer fails to abide by the conditions of the invoice or this credit agreement, or if Yorkshore, in its absolute discretion, determines that Customer will be unable to pay amounts due and owing, Yorkshore has the right to revise or revoke these credit arrangements. Any additional new services would be provided on a C.O.D. basis.
  7. Customer agrees that Yorkshore may suspend all services as the result of Customer's untimely payment or performance, and/or Customer's failure to abide by the conditions of the invoice or this credit agreement.
  8. Customer agrees to be held accountable for the payment of any and all penalties or late fees that may result from Customer's untimely payment or performance, and/or Customer's failure to abide by the conditions of the invoice or this credit agreement.
  9. Customer agrees that Yorkshore may offset monies due from Customer or any affiliate monies owed by Yorkshore to Company or any affiliate. Customer agrees that it will not offset any amounts due to Yorkshore or claimed to be due to Customer from Yorkshore.
  10. Customer understands that a thirty-five dollar fee will be assessed on any received checks that are returned by the bank due to insufficient funds.
  11. Customer agrees to submit payment to Yorkshore in full for all services rendered, without deduction, on the due date of each billing, to the attention of the AR Department. Payments made shall be applied by Yorkshore in the following order: on all interest charges, if any, and then invoices beginning with the earliest in date up to the most recent. Remittance and ACH details are issued with your invoice and by the accounts team.
  12. Customer agrees that by signing this document, they are authorizing Yorkshore to obtain financial information from the trade and bank references listed in the credit application. Customer explicitly authorizes Yorkshore to obtain credit reports in connection with this application for credit. Customer also authorizes the trade and bank references to release to Yorkshore, on a continual basis, any other financial information required by Yorkshore to make its credit decisions. Customer hereby waives their rights to privacy with respect to all applicable Privacy Laws.
  13. Yorkshore agrees that any subsidiary, associated or affiliated companies named by Customer shall be entitled to participate in the credit privileges of Customer, provided that Customer agrees to be fully responsible for payment of any charges incurred by such companies and hereby guarantees payment thereof.
  14. All disputes must be submitted to Yorkshore, in writing, no later than thirty days following the date of billing. Any billing not challenged by Customer within thirty days will be deemed accepted and is agreed the billing shall not be subject to dispute by Customer.
  15. Should Yorkshore refer Customer's account to a collection agency and/or attorney, all reasonable collection and legal fees are to be paid by Customer. Customer agrees that all disputes with Yorkshore will be subject to jurisdiction and resolution.
  16. If any one or more of the above terms becomes invalid or illegal in any respect, such term or terms shall be waived. The validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining terms shall not be affected.
  17. This document, together with any attached documents and invoices, constitutes and expresses the entire agreement of the parties. In the case of conflict between this document and any other contract or document, the parties understand that this agreement controls, unless stated otherwise by the parties.

04 — What happens next

From form to first order.

Approval is a credit decision, not a queue. Here is the shape of it.

01

Received

Both forms land with the accounts team at order@yorkshore.com, and you keep a copy of what you sent.

02

References checked

Trade and bank references are contacted, and a credit report drawn where clause 12 applies.

03

Terms set

A credit limit and payment terms are confirmed in writing. Net thirty is the standard starting point.

04

An account executive

One is assigned by county, and takes the account from first sample through to delivery.

Paying by card instead? The Credit Card Authorization form is completed and returned separately — never by open email.

The standard

An account should open at the speed of the project, not the speed of the paperwork behind it.

Once you are trading

One dedicated account executive per project.

Assigned by county across Florida and New England, and briefed on the job rather than the ticket. Samples, pricing, submittals, and delivery run through the same desk from first inquiry to final drop.
