Overview
Electrotile is American Biltrite's static-control version of its solid vinyl tile. It is made in two electrical grades: static dissipative tile (SDT), which drains charge to ground at a controlled rate, and conductive tile (CVT), which gives a lower-resistance path to ground where electrical tolerances are tighter. The static control is built into the tile body rather than applied as a coating.
It is specified for rooms where sensitive electronics run: imaging and diagnostic suites, operating rooms, laboratories, electronics manufacturing and test areas, and data and equipment rooms. The tile keeps the solid vinyl range's resistance to scratches, stains and scuffs, and has a no-wax finish, so there is no stripping and recoating cycle in the maintenance schedule.
Electrotile comes in 12" × 12", 24" × 24" and 36" × 36" formats, installed glue-down, with a 20-year limited commercial warranty. The SDT and CVT palettes draw on the same flecked neutrals and accent colors, so the grade can be chosen on electrical requirements without changing the look of the room.
