Overview

Alarwool Axminster is a woven wool carpet for the rooms where the pattern carries the space: hotel ballrooms, corridors and gaming floors. The Axminster loom weaves intricate multi-colour designs in pure new wool, a fibre with natural crimp that recovers underfoot and inherent resistance to flame.

Every carpet is bespoke. Alarwool's in-house design studio draws the pattern, borders and colourways to the project, the mill weaves a strike-off for approval as a physical sample, and the full run is scheduled at the family-owned mill in Spain, which has woven since the 1950s and produces around 450,000 m² a year. Casino Estoril and the pre-function hall at InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown are among the installations shown. Yorkshore manages brief, design, production and delivery through one account executive; widths, pile weights and lead times are quoted per project.
