Overview

ABMarathon stair treads are produced in the same homogeneous rubber compound and the same two surfaces as the ABMarathon tile, so a stairwell and the corridor it opens onto can be specified in one color and maintained as one material. Each tread is molded as a single piece from the nosing down the riser, with no seam where stair wear concentrates.

Four profiles cover the two decisions that matter: RTR Round and RTH Hammered with a square nosing, and RVR and RVH, the same surfaces with a contrasting nosing strip for stairs that need the edge read at a glance by visually impaired users. Carborundum strips in black, red or yellow can be set into the tread for added grip and visibility.

Round treads come in 12 colorways and Hammered treads in nine, with matching 18" and 36" landing tiles. The full American Biltrite tread program is Declare Red List Free, and stocked ABMarathon colors ship on an accelerated program.
