Collection — American Biltrite LVT
The floor is chosen by pattern. It is specified by traffic.
Mirra and Sonata come off the same American Biltrite bench and share the same glue-down installation, the same maintenance routine and the same design language. What separates them is the wear layer above the print film — 30 mil for the floors that take carts and crowds, 20 mil for the rooms that take people. Specify the difference once, at the start, and the pattern becomes a free choice.
01 — Mirra
The complete Mirra range, and what it is built for.
Nine colorways — seven wood, two stone — are American Biltrite’s entire current Mirra offering. They are printed films, so screen color is indicative only; confirm against a physical sample before it goes into a specification.

The specifying principle
Put the wear layer where the carts run, and the pattern everywhere else.
03 — Which one, where
Four questions settle the collection.
Both collections install the same way and cost the same to maintain, so the choice comes down to what crosses the floor and how the room is laid out. Your account executive walks these four with you before any sample leaves the office.
What rolls across it
Bed frames, carts, pallet jacks and wheeled luggage are what consume a wear layer. Where those run daily — corridors, lobbies, cafeterias, receiving — Mirra's 30 mil is the specification.
How long the floor stays
A twenty-year floor and a ten-year refit are different briefs. Mirra carries a 20-year commercial warranty; Sonata suits rooms that will be re-imagined with the next tenant.
Format and pattern
Plank reads as direction and length; tile reads as grid and repeat. Both collections offer both, so a corridor can run plank and the room beside it can run tile in a coordinated visual.
Subfloor and schedule
Both are glue-down over a flat, dry, prepared subfloor. Moisture testing and the prep spec are settled early — see floor preparation — so the install sequence holds.
The paperwork travels with the sample.
Technical data sheets, warranty terms, installation and maintenance instructions for both collections are in the documents table on this page, ready for the spec book. Ask your account executive for anything else the submittal needs.
04 — Specification
From sample board to signed-off floor.
One account executive carries the project from the first conversation to the walkthrough, and the installation is planned with your preferred commercial flooring contractors.
Take the brief
Room by room, with the traffic, the schedule and the adjacent finishes on the table. The collection follows from that.
Sample in the real colorway
Full-size samples in the actual colorways, with the data sheets and warranty terms ready for the spec book.
Plan the sequence
Prep, moisture testing and phasing are agreed with the contractor, so occupied floors keep working while the work runs.
Walk it and sign it
The finished floor is walked, handed over with its maintenance schedule, and backed by the same contact who started it.
05 — Documents
Everything the specification needs, on the page.
Technical data, architectural specifications, installation, maintenance, warranty and LEED documentation for Mirra, Sonata and Sonata Elements. Each link opens the manufacturer’s current file in a new tab.
Specification support
Every project starts with a conversation.
You will work with one dedicated account executive from the first sample to the final walkthrough — not a queue.
